Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:

  • First, have your family commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. The Grey Goose (Waterfront) Historic New Bern - Private Beach - BRING YOUR BOAT! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is best for your trip.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. text the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
