Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. Book your vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Choosing the best rental home in Beaufort:

  • To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Ann St Cottage In The Heart Of Historic Beaufort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
