Strategies to get the optimal rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Reserve your Beaufort, NC rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best rental:

  • First, have your family agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. The Gathering Place - 1 Block from Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is suitable for your group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
