How to find the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserve your Beaufort, NC vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and picking your Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Start by having your group select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Near airport, restaurants, and river, Smart Tvs in all rooms has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
