Tips and Tricks to get the best Beaufort, NC rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 3 Minute walk to the Ocean! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
