How to find the best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. 3rd-Floor Condo Overlooking Courtyard w\/Beach Views, WiFi, Shared Pools\/Hot Tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
