Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your Beaufort, NC rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 5 BR Oceanfront East side of Duplex with Pool, Game Room, Hot Tub has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
