Tips for getting the best rental experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Australian Gold West-Oceanfront 1\/2 Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
