Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Pet Friendly Oceanside Townhome in Atlantic Beach, NC-Barefoot Ventures has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
