Beaufort, NC vacation rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Reserve your Beaufort, NC rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Blondie East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
