Getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Boaters Delight! Enjoy your vacation while you dock your boat in this new rental has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
