Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort, NC rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best rental in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Charming, warm & tranquil historic downtown New Bern home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
