Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in Emerald Isle:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Coral Palms Cottage, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
