Beaufort, NC vacation rental tips:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Cozy Beach Getaway at APATB! Sandy beaches & Pools #140 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
