Tricks and tips to get the very best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • To start, have your family choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Dog-friendly third-row cottage featuring central AC, private W\/D & free WiFi has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
