Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Downtown home 1 block from waterfront with patio, front porches, streaming has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
