How to get the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • To get the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • First, have your group agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Fins East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

During your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
