Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.

  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
