Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Beaufort, NC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the best rental home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront corner 3 Bedroom 2 Bath first floor condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
