Emerald Isle vacation rental booking tips:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront corner 3 Bedroom 2 Bath first floor condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
