Rental booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. OCEANFRONT home with breathtaking views East! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
