Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort, NC rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Beaufort, NC attractions and restaurants.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront home with stunning views and beach access has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
