How to book the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Get the best value:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Pebble Beach C-304, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
