Rental property booking tips:

When to book a Beaufort, NC rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Poe's Paradise: Soundside 3 Bedrooms 2 Full Baths - close to beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
