Getting the best rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Relaxing ocean front condo with pool, balcony, kitchen, elevator, TV, & W\/D has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
