Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. Book your Beaufort, NC rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Retreat \"Down East\" in Beaufort! - Waterfront, Private Dock, Kayaks, & Serenity! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, email or call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
