Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose yourvacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. “Shore Thing” at our spacious Beachfront Oasis - WEST has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
