How to book the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Sound Of The Sea West 212, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If not, call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
