  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
