Our top Rental booking tips:
When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Book your Beaufort, NC rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the best rental home in the Beaufort, NC area:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sounds Perfect - Bright and airy sound front home w\/dock. 2 blocks to the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
