How to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the largest rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Still Waters, Soundfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
