Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Suncatcher, Almost Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
