Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in New Bern. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose the right Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. The Cozy Bear Bungalow has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
