Tips to get the very best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To get the best rental within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your search:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. The Emerald Club, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your family.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
