Tips to get the very best Beaufort, NC rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing the perfectrental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. The Emerald Club, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
