Testimonials:

December 13, 2023 - 5 Stars - Katy Dunne
This home has plenty of room with separate living quarters plus really simple beach access right across the street. It's on a peaceful street, feels very private, and has a great view from the huge deck. I adore this part of the island - it's very green and secluded, but also super close to Atlantic Beach and Beaufort if you want to do some shopping or find a great spot to eat. The aquarium is right close by, too! I will definitely be back to the Griffin House again!

December 13, 2023 - 5 Stars - Melissa Mason
The home had everything we needed for our group and so close to the water! I adored the view from the upstairs living space, flooded with sunshine and ocean vibes even when you are inside. The deck is the ideal sunset spot to sit with a glass of wine and soak it all in. It's hard to believe this impressive space exists, a peaceful little neighborhood located in the dunes with handsome empty beaches. A far cry from the busy beaches to the north and south. It was so easy for us to walk to the water with our little ones and all our beach gear. Will absolutely stay here again!

Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Pine Knoll Shores vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Summer time is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Finding the best rental in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The Griffin House, Almost Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
