Tips to get the very best Beaufort, NC rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the best Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. The Salty Pelican in Atlantic Beach NC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your group.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
