Tricks and tips for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beachfront home with ocean-view balcony, two pools, waterslide, & beach access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
