Finding the best vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning and choosing your prefectrental home:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Waterfront Waterway Home in Beaufort on the Neuse River, Family and Pet friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
