Our top Beaufort, NC vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your Beaufort, NC rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you long to visit, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
