Tips and Tricks to get the best Beaufort, NC rental experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. SPRING is coming! BOOK now!! Beautiful ocean views. Third floor deck! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
