Beaufort, NC rental property booking tips:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and choosing yourrental:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beachfront condo with indoor\/outdoor pools, hot tubs, waterslide, & putt-putt has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
