How to get the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your search:

  • To start, have your group choose the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beachy 2 bedroom, 2 bath, Oceanfront, family friendly condo, close to everything has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If not, email the property manager before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
