Tricks and tips for getting the best rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful view of Beaufort, Carrot\/Shackleford Isle, Cape Lookout and Ft. Macon has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
