Booking the best vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the bestrental:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Blue Heron in the heart of Beaufort, it is a 5 star home! has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
