Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Reserve your Beaufort, NC vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Bright, cheery, well appointed 3BR, 3.5B Townhome has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for your stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
