Our top Emerald Isle vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Dark and Stormy, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC beach you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
