Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

When to book a Beaufort, NC rental home & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Reserve your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the best vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Coocoo Cabana, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

More considerations:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
