Tricks and tips to get the optimal Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Amazing Views - OCEANFRONT 1\/2 Duplex! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
