Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing a perfect Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Cottage at Pine Knoll Shores (Pet Friendly) has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
