Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Stunning Ocean Front Views-Pet Friendly-Clean! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
