Strategies to get the very best vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose your prefectrental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Stunning Ocean Front Views-Pet Friendly-Clean, Sound System indoors and out! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
