Strategies for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by having your family commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Daly Dunes- Indoor pool, Waterslide, Putt Putt, tennis... it's all here! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
